The 2018 Maverick Costa Rica 50 is a purpose-built sportfish with twin Caterpillar diesel engines producing 2,000 horsepower combined. The boat features a fiberglass hull measuring 50 feet in length with a 17-foot beam, built for serious offshore fishing operations in Central American waters.
The cockpit is finished in teak with matching covering boards and includes a mezzanine seating area equipped with freezer and drink boxes. An Eskimo ice machine is plumbed directly into the in-deck fish box, while an in-deck live well supports live bait operations. Eight tuna tubes are mounted in the transom for additional fish storage. The boat carries teaser reels mounted in the hard top and features a control tower with full helm functionality.
Below deck, the layout provides three staterooms and two heads for crew and guest accommodations. A watermaker supplies fresh water, and Garmin electronics handle navigation and fish finding. The engines have been updated to 1,000-horsepower CAT 12.9s with logged hours of 3,300 and 2,350 respectively.
