2018 MJM 40z

The 2018 MJM 40z is a 40-foot downeast cruiser built on a modified deep-V hull design with proven offshore capability. Twin new Volvo IPS diesel drives producing 740 horsepower deliver a cruising speed of 30 knots and a maximum speed of 37 knots. The hull—constructed from heat-cured epoxy and E-glass—incorporates dual lifting strakes, chine flats, and a 19-degree transom dead rise for stability and a dry ride, with fuel efficiency significantly better than conventional construction. Joystick control and dynamic positioning station-keeping make handling straightforward.

The interior layout emphasizes openness and sightlines across the pilothouse, galley, dinette, and cockpit, all on the same level. Side boarding doors at floating dock height ease boarding, and strataglass side windows combined with power-operated front windshields enhance visibility and ventilation throughout.

The boat is equipped with a SeaKeeper-5 gyrostabilizer, a Freedom Lift, life raft, and ice-maker. Additional features include heated winter storage capability. With only 450 hours on the engines at time of listing, the boat represents one of the most successful models in the MJM line and carries ISO category A ocean certification.
