The 2018 Nautitech 46 Open is a fiberglass catamaran built for extended offshore cruising. At 45 feet in length and nearly 25 feet in beam, she offers the stability and volume typical of the platform. Twin 50-horsepower Volvo Penta diesel engines with folding bronze propellers provide power, supported by two 300-liter fuel tanks. The boat was originally outfitted as a four-cabin version and has been equipped systematically for world-cruising autonomy.
The sailing plan is comprehensive. The aluminum mast and boom carry a full-batten mainsail of 78 square meters in Hydranet, a self-tacking jib of 38 square meters, a 160-square-meter gennaker, and a 66-square-meter Code 0, all with dedicated winches and Facnor boom and furler hardware. Navigation electronics include dual B&G Triton multifunction displays at each helm station, three B&G Zeus chart plotters, B&G autopilot with remote controls, dual B&G VHF systems plus a portable ICOM unit, and B&G AIS transceiver. Navionics charts cover Europe and the Caribbean. An electric Lowrance windlass with remote, a 25-kilogram Cobra anchor with 70 meters of chain, and secondary FOB anchor complete the ground tackle.
Four double cabins with memory-foam mattresses and ensuite heads with electric freshwater systems occupy the hulls, along with an additional forward bunk to starboard. The saloon has a height-adjustable table with extensions, and the galley is equipped with a three-burner ENO gas stove, gas oven, and Nespresso machine. Three separate refrigerators and a freezer provide cooling across the boat. Six Mastervolt 6-volt batteries reconfigured to 1200 amp-hours (replaced 30 June 2022) are charged by 1200 watts of LG Neon bifacial solar panels, a Victron 2000-watt inverter, and a Victron 80-amp charger. A Hydrotechnique watermaker produces 280 liters per hour. The boat carries a Bauer 330-bar compressor and four carbon diving cylinders with full equipment packages.
The cockpit features a teak table seating ten, a fixed ENO plancha on the starboard side, a hot and cold transom shower, and full weather protection including bimini top and translucent enclosure. An integrated bar with cup holders sits in the sun lounge area. A Carib 3.4-meter tender with a 15-horsepower Honda four-stroke engine (March 2024) serves as the dinghy. Starlink internet and an Iridium Go provide connectivity. The boat carries Category A safety armament, two six-person life rafts, and an EPIRB with GPS.
