The 2018 Ranger Tug R-23 is a 23-foot fiberglass pilothouse designed to perform well beyond its modest size. Powered by a single 200-horsepower Suzuki outboard, it cruises at 26 knots and handles easily thanks to a Lewmar bow thruster installed in 2024. The engine has been serviced annually and shows only 146 hours of operation. Additional recent upgrades include a Lewmar Pro-Sport windlass and two coats of Odyssey Triton ablative paint, both completed in 2024.
The interior sleeps up to six with a V-berth forward for two, a single aft guest berth on the port side, and a dinette that converts to a double. The head includes a Jabsco manual toilet, hot and cold shower, and pressure water system. Galley equipment comprises a microwave, Nova Kool refrigerator, and a two-burner Kenyon alcohol and electric stove. Climate control comes from a Webasto Marine Air diesel heater for winter use.
Power and systems are well-appointed. Three house batteries and one start battery were replaced in 2024, supporting a 90-watt solar panel with dedicated charge controller, electric bilge pump, automatic water system, and macerator pump. Navigation electronics include a Garmin AIS 800, Suzuki color display, depth sounder, radar, VHF radio, chartplotter, and GPS.
Exterior features include trim tabs, hydraulic steering, a Whale Twist deck shower, swim ladder, and Aqua Jet wash-down system. Canvas window covers, companionway screens, and a glare screen protect the helm area. The boat comes with an Easy Loader road trailer equipped with electric-over-hydraulic disc brakes on both axles, oil bath axles, spare tire, aluminum rims, and specialized wiring for towing lights. Manuals and maintenance records are included.
