The 2019 Chaparral 297 SSX is a 29-foot bowrider built with extended V-plane hull construction and perma panel marine coring for durability and performance. The boat runs on a single gasoline engine paired with stainless steel props. An aluminum fuel tank holds 100 gallons. The helm features dual Simrad NSS7 EVO3 chartplotters with 7-inch multifunction displays, GPS, and integrated engine data readouts. Power-assisted steering with tilt wheel and rack-and-pinion configuration provides responsive handling, while sealed, triple o-ring electrical connectors and grounding bars throughout ensure reliability.
Cockpit layout prioritizes comfort and functionality. Aft bench seating converts from full seating to a sun lounge via a power-slide mechanism. The bow features hinged cushions with storage underneath, an insulated ice chest, and a cockpit table with dedicated storage. A 36-quart carry-on cooler fits in dedicated storage. Hand-stitched upholstery and vinyl-wrapped side panels come in multiple color schemes. LED lighting illuminates the bow, cockpit, engine compartment, ski locker, and swim platform. The extended fiberglass swim platform provides ample access to the water.
Accommodations include an enclosed fiberglass head with a vanity cabinet, solid surface countertop, stainless steel sink, and pull-out shower wand. A porta-pottie serves the head, which also features LED lighting and an opening portlight with screen. Storage runs throughout: bow ice chest, drawer and cabinet space in the dash walkway, upper head storage, and an anchor locker with bow rope. A self-bailing cockpit drainage system with fiberglass liner keeps water off the deck.
Additional features include dual battery setup with crossover switch, automatic bilge pump, heavy-duty bilge blower, electric hatch lift into the engine compartment, electric horn, and windshield wiper on the starboard side. A Bimini top with windscreen and boot in Sunbrella fabric provides shade, available in black or blue.
