This 2019 Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 is a composite catamaran measuring 41 feet with a beam of nearly 24 feet. Twin 100 horsepower Volvo diesel engines power the boat, which has logged approximately 2,600 hours. The yacht accommodates four cabins and was recently returned from an Atlantic crossing.
The boat is well-equipped for extended cruising. Navigation systems include dual Garmin chartplotters, two autopilots, three VHF radios, and a full navigation center. Power and water systems comprise a 9 kVA generator, a 180 liter-per-hour desalination unit, 800 watts of solar panels, air conditioning, and 470 liters of fuel capacity with 700 liters of fresh water. Additional amenities include a washing machine, television, and Starlink connectivity. The sails consist of a mainsail, foresail, and gennaker.
The catamaran carries an 800-watt solar array, a Highfield tender with a 15 horsepower outboard, and a 25-kilogram anchor with 90 meters of chain. The rigging package includes electric winches and standing rigging updated in 2024.
Recent work has included sail drive membrane replacement, overhaul of the engine, galhaubans replacement, standing rigging, hatch sealing, new mooring lines, and anchor chain. The generator and desalination unit are scheduled for service in 2025. A complete file of invoices and manuals is included with the boat.
