2019 Fountaine Pajot Saona 47

The 2019 Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 is a fiberglass catamaran designed for extended offshore cruising. At 45.73 feet long with a 25.26-foot beam, it combines the stability and interior volume characteristic of the catamaran format with a layout optimized for world cruising. Two Volvo Penta D2-60 diesel engines with 2,000 hours on the clock and documented maintenance history power the boat, paired with folding three-blade propellers to reduce drag under sail.

The accommodation includes three cabins and three heads, with a well-appointed interior featuring a bright saloon and generous storage throughout. A rigid bimini and full cockpit protection provide effective weather shelter. The galley and living spaces are designed for comfortable extended time aboard, with good natural light and efficient ergonomic layouts.

The boat is extensively outfitted for autonomous offshore voyaging. Power generation includes 2,650 watts of solar panels (five 400-watt units on the aft arch plus three 150-watt panels on the roof) paired with four 200-amp-hour Lithium Victron batteries and a 3,000-watt Victron converter-charger. Fresh-water systems consist of a 60-liter-per-hour Aquabase watermaker and 700-liter storage tanks, with waste-water capacity of 120 liters across three tanks. A Webasto Thermo 90 heating system with cabin and saloon thermostats covers cold-weather passages.

Navigation and sailing equipment reflects serious offshore use: a Garmin system with dual displays, AIS transceiver, HD3 radar, and Iridium GO satellite connectivity; autopilots from Garmin plus a backup independent unit; and a Quick 1500-watt windlass with remote control. The sail plan includes a battened mainsail with Dyneema halyard, a 52-square-meter jib on roller furler, and a 105-square-meter gennaker on a boom. Maintenance records show replacement of exhaust elbows with stainless-steel units and renewal of shaft couplings in 2023.
