The 2019 Schionning G Force 17C is a 56-foot performance catamaran built to exacting standards by designer Jeff Schionning. Twin 150 hp Yammer diesel engines with shaft drives power the boat to a cruising speed of 9 knots, while the 22-metre rotating carbon fibre rig and full North Sails suite—including mainsail, self-tacking headsail, screecher, asymmetric spinnaker, and storm jib—deliver sailing performance that often matches or exceeds wind speed. The slender hulls are reinforced with carbon fibre in high-stress areas, and multiple crash bulkheads plus sealed compartments maintain positive buoyancy. Kick-up rudders and reinforced bottom allow shallow-water cruising and beaching.
The interior is spacious and well-appointed, with two large king cabins, a queen cabin, a double bunk, and a single bunk providing sleeping for a family or crew. The galley features Corian benchtops and a microwave; additional amenities include a washing machine, watermaker, and Smart TV. Leather seating throughout complements the generous cabin volume. Thick sound and heat insulation keeps the interior quiet and comfortable even at speed.
The boat was never raced and has been well-maintained. Sound and heat insulation is substantial, and the interior is thoughtfully finished to a high standard. The standing rigging Dyneema lashings were replaced in 2023.
