The 2019 Viking 68 Convertible is a composite-hulled convertible powered by two MTU engines producing 3,890 horsepower combined. The hull features a 12.1-degree transom deadrise designed to deliver a soft ride in rough seas, with a 35-knot cruising speed and top-end capability approaching 40 knots. The design balances tournament-fishing capability with comfortable cruising, presenting an aggressive yet elegant profile with a raked stem, sloping sheer, and swept-back windshield.
The interior is finished in high-gloss walnut throughout and arranged as four staterooms with four heads, plus a day head accessible from the salon. The forward stateroom has a walkaround queen bed with lift-up storage beneath. Starboard and crew staterooms feature upper and lower berths, each with a private head and stall shower; crew quarters are separately accessed from the companionway. The open-plan salon includes a walk-around island galley with Sub-Zero refrigeration and aircraft-grade drawer slides, dinette seating for four, and bar stools at the galley counter. A 49-inch HD pop-up television and frameless windows provide entertainment and natural light. Hidden air-conditioning registers and an electrically operated companionway door enhance comfort.
The cockpit is fully appointed for fishing or cruising, with an observation mezzanine featuring port aft-facing lounge seating, tackle cabinet, bait freezer, in-deck fishwell with macerator pump, flush rod holders, walk-through transom door with lift gate, and fresh and saltwater washdown systems. The flying bridge helm station offers superb all-around visibility, with electronic trolling valves and a second control station on the overhang. An enclosed bridge option with spiral staircase from the salon and second helm station is also available as an alternative.
Equipment includes a Seakeeper 26 gyroscopic stabilizer, Furuno Omni sonar, Dometic XZ 11 watermaker with SpotZero, ElectroSea Clearline system, Rite Aire whole-boat dehumidification, and VIPER independent programmable electro-hydraulic rudder steering. Fuel capacity is 2,460 gallons across three tanks. Recent work includes a ceramic coating completed in June 2025 and refurbished Release Trillon Series fighting chairs completed in November 2024. The MTU engines carry warranty coverage until September 2027 or 5,000 hours, with current running hours approximately 3,527. The Seakeeper has warranty until August 2028 or 5,000 hours, currently at approximately 613 hours.
