The 2019 Yellowfin 42 is a full-featured center console designed for serious offshore work. Powered by quad Mercury V8 300R engines totaling 1,200 horsepower, the boat runs at a cruising speed of 45 knots and reaches 65 knots at top speed. The engines were installed in 2023 and have accumulated only 200 hours. The hull is fiberglass, and the boat has been rack stored since new.
The boat carries an extensive suite of electronics and systems. Navigation includes two 22-inch Garmin displays at the helm, a Garmin Open Array radar, and a GOST tracking system with dual cameras. A FLIR night vision system provides enhanced visibility, and a Starlink high-performance WiFi installation was completed in June 2024. The audio system received a $23,000 JL Audio upgrade featuring six 8.8-inch pods, 7.7-inch speakers under the tunnel, two JL Marine 12-inch subwoofers, and two JL HD900/5 amplifiers.
The boat is extensively equipped for fishing and cruising. A massive transom livewell with an etched window and custom tuna tubes serves as the primary fish box, while a new livewell and saltwater washdown pumps were installed in June 2024. The forward lounger includes a freezer box and electric flip-up backrests. Outriggers are carbon fiber, with additional rod holders throughout. A bow thruster and windlass support maneuvering, and a dive door with ladder facilitates water access.
Recent refit work includes new upholstery with double diamond stitching, new SeaDek in the cabin and at the helm (July 2024), and LED lighting throughout. A diesel generator and air conditioning serve both the cabin and helm. The boat measures 42 feet in length with a 12-foot beam.
