The Silverfin 40 is a 2020 motor yacht built on a fiberglass hull to a design by Nigel Irens. Powered by a single Volvo D3-220 diesel engine producing 220 horsepower, the boat features a bow thruster for enhanced manoeuvrability. Fuel consumption runs at approximately 19 litres per hour at 13 knots and 12 litres per hour at 10 knots.
The interior contains one forward cabin with an adjoining head and shower. The saloon features cream fabric upholstery, a convertible table that transforms into a double berth, venetian blinds, ambient lighting, and memory foam mattresses. The cabin sole is finished in Sunbrella material, while passageways, cockpit sole, and transom skirt are laid in flexible teak.
The boat is well-equipped for cruising and navigation. A Raymarine Axiom 16-inch multifunction display serves as the primary chartplotter, complemented by an onboard autopilot and AIS transceiver. Communication systems include a Raymarine VHF radio. The flybridge carries a carbon fibre table and removable sun canopy with carbon supports, plus a bimini top over the helm station. A Fusion Bluetooth audio system provides interior and exterior speakers. Creature comforts include a Webasto Air Top Evo 40 heating system, pressurised hot and cold water, a two-burner cooker, 12-volt refrigeration, and a 220-volt water heater with heat exchanger. Power management is handled by a Mastervolt 3000-watt inverter-charger, with dual AGM service batteries plus engine battery. Additional gear includes an electric windlass, LED navigation and interior lighting, a life raft, and a 16-kilogramme stainless steel mirror-polished anchor with 30 metres of chain.
