2020 CH Marine Shelter Island Nomad

The 2020 Shelter Island Nomad is a 30-foot downeast-style boat built by Coecles Harbor Marine to a design by Doug Zurn. This final hull of a limited six-boat production run combines classic lines with practical cruising capability. The single Yammer 370-horsepower diesel engine with outdrive delivers a cruising speed of 29 knots and a top speed of 34 knots, while the hull shape promises a dry and confident ride across varied water conditions. Fuel economy is a strong point of the design.

The boat's interior centers on a single cabin with a V-berth forward, a fully enclosed head, and a basic galley. This layout works equally well for day trips along the coast or overnight passages. Above deck, the cockpit features versatile seating arranged over a teak sole, with a stern door and swim platform for water access.

Equipment includes a Vetus bow thruster for easier maneuvering, 12-volt DC air conditioning and heating, and a custom 2021 Loadmaster aluminum trailer for transport. The boat is well equipped and suited to exploratory cruising in protected and open waters alike.
