The 2020 Cobalt R7 Surf is a 27-foot bowrider built on the popular R7 platform from Cobalt Boats. It features a single 430-horsepower Volvo Penta diesel engine paired with the Forward Drive transmission—a duoprop system with propellers facing the bow that delivers precise control and stability, particularly for wake surfing. The fiberglass hull measures 8.5 feet at the beam.

The layout centers on versatility and social entertaining. The bow offers a spacious lounge, while the cockpit features reconfigurable seating. An aft sunpad, flip-up rumble seat, and fold-down swim step create multiple relaxation zones at water level. The boat sleeps up to fifteen people across its various seating areas and includes a head compartment. Abundant storage throughout supports extended outings.
