The 2020 Hinckley Picnic Boat 40 is a 40-foot composite downeast yacht built with Hinckley's TriGuard Epoxy construction—aramid fiber and E-glass outer skin with carbon fiber inner skin, infused and post-cured for durability. She is powered by twin Cummins 550-horsepower diesel engines with Common Rail technology, paired with ZF 220 transmissions and Hamilton 322 jet drives, delivering a cruising speed of 35 knots and a top speed of 38 knots. The hull features Flag Blue paint with Double Cream topside, a Vivid Red boot stripe, and Micron CSC black bottom. Teak decking runs across the pilothouse, aft cockpit, and swim platform, with an extended fiberglass swim platform and stainless-steel three-step folding ladder completing the exterior.

The pilothouse centers on a power Stidd helm chair in French Blue leather, with an L-shaped settee to port in French Vanilla leather and a teak table with integrated grab handle. Two large fixed frameless windscreens with wipers and intermittent washers provide excellent visibility. The space is finished in high-gloss teak dash and sideliners, with five dimmable LED overhead lights and two self-dogging power hatches for ventilation. Forward, the V-berth converts to a queen berth via stainless-steel electric pedestal and is dressed in French Vanilla leather. The starboard head features a cherry-trimmed mirror and undermounted polished stainless sink, with a separate shower compartment aft separated by Plexiglass, both with recessed teak grate drainage and screened portlights. A cedar-lined hanging locker and moisture-resistant sheer storage complete the sleeping quarters.
