2020 Monterey 278SS Super Sport

The Monterey 278SS Super Sport is a 27-foot open-bow runabout built on a deep-V fiberglass hull with an 8.5-foot beam. Powered by a single 350-horsepower MerCruiser gas sterndrive, it delivers cruising speeds in the low 30s and reaches 40 knots at top speed.

The cockpit centers on a large open layout with an aft bench seat that folds down to extend the sun pad. A contoured lounge sits opposite the helm station, which features a double-wide seat with flip-up bolster for standing driving. A wet bar is built into the console, and storage runs beneath the back-to-back helm seating. The sun pad lifts to access the engine compartment.

Accommodations include an enclosed head with VacuFlush toilet located opposite a cooler. The boat is outfitted with an extended swim platform, transom shower, docking lights, pull-up cleats, and fender storage. This example has an upgraded audio system and Garmin GPS installed.
