The 2020 Nautitech 40 Open is a performance catamaran designed by Marc Lombard and built by Nautitech. The hull benefits from Lombard's design approach, which emphasizes seaworthiness and sailing performance in both upwind and downwind conditions. The 40-foot catamaran is powered by a single 50 hp Volvo diesel engine and features a beam of nearly 23 feet, providing substantial stability and interior space.

The layout centers on Nautitech's "Open" concept, which dissolves boundaries between the cockpit and saloon through fluid circulation and unobstructed sightlines. The design prioritizes natural ventilation and panoramic views of the surrounding water. Four cabins and two heads accommodate family cruising programs, balancing living space with onboard conviviality.

Helm control from the stern puts the helmsperson at the center of sailing, offering direct engagement with the boat's movement and response. The catamaran's combination of safety, comfort, and performance under sail makes it suitable for extended cruising in open water.
