The 2020 Prowler 42 is a 42-foot fiberglass catamaran built around an asymmetrical sponson design derived from offshore racing hulls. Four Mercury engines producing 1,800 horsepower deliver a top speed of 60 knots and a cruising speed of 40 knots. The distinctive hull combines the handling precision and aesthetics of a narrow deep-vee with catamaran advantages: a smooth ride, exceptional stability when drifting or trolling, and improved fuel economy. Joystick control is standard.
The boat prioritizes function for fishing and diving. The completely open, unbroken forward deck provides a secure fighting platform. Below-deck storage totals more than 850 gallons across insulated, locking, and lighted compartments for fish, gear, and dry goods, supplemented by twin 400-gallon coffin boxes. Twin 55-gallon aquarium-style livewells occupy the aft corners. The helm dash spans enough space for three 16-inch displays.
Seating accommodates up to six in the helm area, with two rows of deluxe bolster seats and folding armrests, plus aft-facing seating and a tackle center. Forward seating includes loungers and upright seats. The boat includes a float-on trailer.
The boat has been kept on a lift since new and was single-owned. No bottom paint has been applied.
