The 2020 Scout 251 XSS is a 25-foot fiberglass bay boat designed as a hybrid capable of handling both inshore and offshore conditions. Powered by a single 300-horsepower Mercury engine, it draws approximately 13 inches, making it well-suited for shallow backwater fishing while the raised bow, hull design, and freeboard allow it to manage offshore swells effectively.
The boat is equipped with a large anchor locker, port and starboard lockable rod storage boxes, a high-performance leaning post with rod holders, transom ladder, and trim tabs. The design features a forward seating arrangement with ample space across the 8.5-foot beam. Optional upgrades include rear deck jump seat cushions, a port aerated bait well, and a porta potti.
A notable feature of this model is Scout's patented T-top and glass enclosure system, which earned a U.S. Design Patent. The combination of the boat's functional fishing layout and protective overhead structure reflects Scout's approach to blending performance with on-water comfort.
