The 2020 Tartan 395 is a modern cruising sailboat built on the proven foundation of Tartan's 60-year history. At 39.5 feet with a 12.8-foot beam, she combines contemporary design with thoughtful engineering. The fiberglass hull features a custom paint finish, and the carbon fiber mast with single-hand rig lines led aft to the helm enables efficient sailing. A 40-horsepower Volvo diesel engine provides reliable propulsion, backed by an additional 26-gallon fuel tank for extended range.
The boat accommodates two cabins with full bedding and quilted mattresses. The galley includes dual refrigeration—a Vitrifrigo double-shelf unit and top-load freezer—plus a Little Wonder watermaker producing 200 gallons per day. Two reverse-cycle air conditioning units provide climate control throughout. The head features a Raritan electric toilet with fresh and seawater flush options. Navigation and seamanship are supported by new Raymarine instruments and dual carbon fiber wheels at the helm, with bow thruster control positioned at the starboard station.
Cruising features enhance comfort and safety. Davits with integrated winch support tender operations, while solar panels and three 205-amp-hour AGM batteries reduce generator dependence. A retracting transom swim platform, dodger, bimini, and tan nonskid deck with white smooth surfaces define the working deck. Canvas covers protect hatches, helms, and the cockpit table. The design draws only 5 feet 2 inches and clears 62 feet 7 inches at the mast, making her accessible to inland waterways and the Bahamas.
The bottom was painted and hull waxed in May 2026, preparing the boat for immediate use.
