2021 Balance 482

The Balance 482 is a 48-foot composite catamaran built in 2021, powered by twin Yammer diesel engines of 90 horsepower each. The design balances performance sailing with comfortable cruising, featuring powerful sail plans and carbon fiber daggerboards that allow responsive handling while remaining manageable for a small crew. The hull construction uses Balance's Carbon Cross technique—E-glass fiberglass with significant carbon fiber reinforcement in high-load areas, hand-laminated and vacuum-bagged over closed-cell foam cores to create a lightweight, stiff structure suitable for offshore voyaging.

The three-cabin owner's layout includes two heads and accommodates liveaboard comfort with tasteful finishes and custom touches. Interior systems reflect a fully equipped world voyager: a 48V Victron lithium house battery bank, dual 9kW Integrel charging systems integrated with the engines, 1600 watts of solar panels, a Spectra Cape Horn watermaker with Z-Ion, and DC-efficient air conditioning and heating that runs directly from batteries. Additional amenities include a washer-dryer combination and a full Raymarine electronics suite with autopilot, radar, and AIS.

The yacht carries an extensive Ullman performance sail package including screecher and spinnaker sails.
