2021 Beneteau Figaro 3

The 2021 Beneteau Figaro 3 is a groundbreaking one-design racing monohull, the first production foiling boat of its kind. Developed through collaboration between Beneteau and VPLP—designers of recent Vendée Globe winners—it combines proven reliability with innovative technology. The foam sandwich fiberglass hull is ballast-free and optimized for minimal drag. Its defining feature is the inward-facing foil system, which reduces drift and improves righting moment without adding movement. The deep, straight-blade keel works in concert with the foils for superior performance.

The boat carries a comprehensive sail plan suited to short-handed racing. A setback mast, similar to IMOCA 60 design, enables balanced sail handling and accommodates a square-top mainsail, genoa, jib, masthead spinnaker (105 m²), and small gennaker. A bowsprit extends the platform. Power comes from a single 21 hp Nanni diesel engine.

Hull number 63, this example was delivered new to its Australian owner in May 2021. It is fully equipped with a North Sails package aligned with class rules, plus a complete NKE offshore instrument suite featuring autopilot, wind, speed, and depth instruments, along with a computer carrying tuning guides. Australian Category 3 safety certification and racing equipment are included throughout. The boat is outfitted and ready for ocean racing competition.
