The 2021 Beneteau Gran Turismo 40 is a 42-foot sport cruiser built around twin Volvo D6 340-horsepower diesel engines with counter-rotating propellers and joystick docking control. The hull employs an Air Step design for smooth, stable performance at speed, while the fiberglass construction is sandwich-cored with polyester resin, glass fiber, and balsa. Interior headroom throughout runs between 1.90 and 1.95 meters, and accommodations include a forward owner's cabin with a double berth and panorama windows, a guest cabin with convertible single or double berths, a galley with gas cooktop and 80-liter refrigerator, and a head with separate shower and marine toilet.

The saloon features a four-person sofa upholstered in Courchevel shell fabric, a walnut wood table, and ample storage across multiple cupboards and lockers. Equipment includes reverse-cycle heating and air conditioning, custom teak flooring throughout, a 5-kilowatt Onan generator, and a power sunroof. The cockpit seats eight and converts to a sun deck, with a solid wood table that transforms into a lounge. A full canvas enclosure, hydraulic swim platform, cockpit shower, and galley with sink provide practical comfort for entertaining.

Standard features include electric windlass with remote control, dual 325-liter fuel tanks, fire extinguishing system controlled from the helm, hydraulic steering, and three battery banks with shore power capability. The engine hours are notably low at 300 hours.
