The 2800 Makaira is a 28-foot center console built on a fiberglass hull, powered by a single Mercury Verado 400 hp engine with 330 hours. The boat reaches a top speed of 51 knots and cruises at 37 knots, making it capable for offshore work and sport fishing. The open layout centers on a command station with helm seating, and the boat includes four live wells, a shower, and a coffin box ice chest.
Equipment includes dual power poles, trim tabs, a jack plate, and an onboard battery charger. Navigation and sonar are handled by two Garmin 1243 displays with a new through-hull transducer. An Ipilot trolling motor is installed, and lighting includes Lumitec underwater fixtures. The audio system features a JL Audio setup with dual 12-inch subwoofers, four 6-inch and four 8-inch speakers, and two amplifiers. Night vision capability comes from a Sionyx system, and drop-down support legs have been added to the t-top.
Recent work includes a full Gator Step installation completed in December 2024, new Garmin displays, a new through-hull transducer, new Lumitec underwater lighting, and an interior and exterior ceramic coat applied two years ago. The t-top also received the ceramic treatment. A Sport Trail trailer is included. The boat comes with a Mercury engine warranty and Gator Step warranty, both five years.
