The Excess 11 is a 2021-built catamaran designed for serious cruising in a compact, manageable package. At just under 38 feet with a 22-foot beam, it balances genuine offshore capability with simplicity of handling and onboard comfort. Two Yanmar diesel engines of 58 horsepower each power the boat, while a comprehensive suite of systems supports independent cruising: a 480-watt adjustable solar array, AGM battery bank, autopilot, and modern Raymarine electronics including AIS, VHF, and an Axiom display.
The layout features six cabins and two heads arranged for family cruising or charter use. The forepeak berths offer sleeping space or additional stowage. The saloon and cockpit flow naturally together, with an L-shaped galley opening to the outside, a comfortable dining area, and good natural ventilation from numerous opening ports. Twelve-volt fans throughout the cabins and saloon enhance comfort in warm climates.
Under sail, the boat carries a full-batten mainsail, self-tacking jib, and roller-furling gennaker that optimize light-air performance while keeping maneuvers straightforward for a small crew. Twin helm stations—a signature feature of the design—provide excellent feel at the wheel and direct visibility over the sails and water. Both helms are fitted with biminis, and the cockpit includes cushions for extended time on deck.
Equipment includes an equipped dinghy with Mercury 6-horsepower outboard, Fusion Apollo audio system, and a full safety outfit. The battery bank was replaced in April 2026. The boat is ready for immediate use and suited to Caribbean cruising or extended passage-making.
