The 2021 Fountaine Pajot Samana 59 is a 61-foot fiberglass catamaran designed for extended offshore cruising. Powered by twin 300 hp Volvo diesel engines, she combines the beam and stability of the catamaran platform with refined proportions: a 31-foot beam, an expansive 27.5 square metre open cockpit, and what the builder describes as the largest flybridge in her class. The boat carries a full sail wardrobe and is equipped with a comprehensive navigation suite including dual 22-inch Garmin screens, radar, AIS, SSB radio, and satellite and cellular communications.
Below deck, the four-cabin layout centres on a spacious saloon with panoramic windows and an open galley. Accommodation spaces include a full-comfort interior outfitted with dishwasher, washer/dryer, wine cellar, ice-maker, and convection oven with microwave. An entertainment system with hi-fi and cabin television rounds out the main living areas.
Power and autonomy have been prioritized through substantial upgrades: a 17 kW generator, 7.4 kW solar array, and large lithium battery bank support extended time away from the grid. Water production is handled by a 105 litres-per-hour watermaker with a backup Rainman unit. Deck equipment includes three electric winches, an electric windlass, and a hydraulic tender lift platform rated for 450 kilograms. These systems underscore the boat's design intention as a capable, long-range cruising platform.
