This 2021 Garcia Exploration 52 is a full-aluminum sailing yacht designed for extended cruising in all ocean conditions. Built by the French shipyard Garcia, it combines rugged construction with refined accommodations. The yacht features three cabins and two heads, including a dedicated ensuite for the owner's cabin. An additional berth is available in the technical space beneath the saloon, and the aft port cabin serves dual purposes with a desk and bunk.
The boat's layout centers on a spacious saloon with panoramic views and a protected wheelhouse offering sight lines forward for navigation in challenging seas. Power comes from a Volvo Penta 150 hp diesel engine, supported by a bow thruster and stern thruster for maneuvering. The yacht carries a 400-liter fuel reserve and is equipped with a freshwater desalinator, 75-liter water heater, diesel heating with radiators, and air conditioning throughout the saloon and all cabins. A compact washer and dryer rounds out the onboard systems.
Sail handling is simplified with two electric Andersen winches at the aft cockpit and a third electric winch, all fed by a rationalized deck plan. The rig includes mainsail, solent, and jib in durable materials, with a gennaker and code zero for light winds, plus a carbon spinnaker pole and whisker pole. Navigation electronics feature a B&G system with two 12-inch Zeus3 chart plotters and a secondary autopilot.
The yacht was specifically prepared for Antarctic exploration and carries extensive equipment for self-sufficient voyaging: 1080 watts of solar panels, a Fisher Panda 8000i generator, a 35 kg galvanized Spade anchor with 100 meters of chain and electric windlass, and an F Rib 330 tender with Mercury 6 hp outboard. Rigid stanchions, dual rudders on self-aligning bearings, and reinforced engine room insulation complete the systems.
