The 2021 Lagoon 50 is a modern catamaran built for comfortable cruising and owner use. At 48.5 feet with a 26.6-foot beam, she combines the seaworthiness of Lagoon's established designs with updated performance features. Two Yanmar diesel engines provide primary propulsion, supported by a Northern Lights generator and Sea Recovery water maker. The hull design incorporates beveled shapes and panoramic glazing throughout, with a new visual identity that distinguishes her from earlier models.
The deck layout prioritizes comfort and functionality across multiple spaces. A flybridge helm station offers excellent visibility with secure access, backed by a large modular recreation area with integrated storage for cushions. The main cockpit opens to the sea, with removable bench seating and a dining configuration, while a forward cockpit on the foredeck serves dual purpose as seating or deck lounging. Generous under-deck storage runs throughout the cockpit and flybridge areas.
Accommodation can be configured with three, four, or six cabins—this example is set up with five cabins and six heads. The interior features a split-level saloon concept with a galley opening to the cockpit on one side and an elevated lounge area with panoramic views on the other. A retractable central windscreen connects interior and exterior spaces for ventilation and interaction. Natural light flows through panoramic windows and large hull portholes, particularly in the aft cabins. Cabin designs include island berths, hanging lockers, open storage, and substantial volume throughout. Fresh and black water tanks sit beneath floorboards to maximize usable space.
The rigging follows new-generation principles with the mast stepped further aft, yielding a self-tacking jib, larger forward triangle, shorter boom, and high-aspect-ratio main sail. This configuration reduces pitch and improves performance while simplifying sail handling.
