The 2021 Leopard 53 Powercat is a fiberglass power catamaran built for extended cruising. Twin Yammer LV-8 370 common rail engines power the boat, delivering fuel economy and reliability at both displacement speeds—achieving roughly 3 nautical miles per gallon with a range of 1680 nautical miles at 1400 rpm—and in plane to 23 knots. The catamaran hull provides stability and efficiency across a wide range of operating conditions, while an electric bow thruster assists with docking. Wireless Yacht Controller and dual protected helms, both lower and flybridge, allow comfortable operation in all conditions.
The three-cabin owner's layout prioritizes living space and luxury. The galley sits forward, opening to the main salon. The starboard aft owner's cabin includes a spacious ensuite with dual sinks and separate shower. Two additional cabins and three heads complete the interior. The expansive flybridge features panoramic seating, a protected helm station, sun lounge, BBQ grill, ice maker, beverage cooler, and dining table for eight, with teak furnishings throughout. A large cockpit, foredeck, and salon provide abundant seating and entertaining space.
The boat operates with significant self-sufficiency through 3,200 watts of solar panels and a substantial lithium battery bank managed by Victron controls. A 30-gallon-per-hour Spectra watermaker and 185-gallon fresh water capacity support extended independence. The Northern Lights generator carries low hours thanks to this power configuration. Recent bottom maintenance included fresh BioGuard paint and PropSpeed coating on all running gear; props were tuned and new cutlass bearings installed. Topsides carry ceramic coating protection.
Tenders and water toys are included: two kayaks, two kayak-SUP combos, two electric scooters, and a 2023 Highfield Center Helm 390 with 60-horsepower Yamaha outboard mounted on an electric tender lift with swim platform. Engine hours total 1,371 with genset time at 1,186 hours.
