2021 Mako 284 Center Console
About This Yacht
The 2021 Mako 284 Center Console is a 28-foot sportfishing center console built on a solid fiberglass hull reinforced with a one-piece molded stringer grid. The hull and deck are chemically bonded and mechanically fastened every 6 inches with stainless steel fasteners, then injected with expanding foam for added structural integrity. Twin Mercury engines deliver 1,050 total horsepower, capable of pushing the boat to 56 knots at speed and cruising efficiently at 35 knots with a 228-gallon fuel capacity for extended offshore range.
The boat is purpose-built for fishing. Two in-deck fish boxes totaling 290 quarts sit forward, with a full-featured bait station amidships featuring a freshwater sink. An outrigger-ready fiberglass hardtop houses five rod holders, an electronics box, and three spreader lights. The console includes a gelcoat-finished interior, a sink, battery switch panel, and headroom of 6 feet. A fiberglass leaning post with backrest and flip-up cushion provides tackle storage and prep space.
The layout incorporates an oversized forward console seat with storage and two drink holders, a 470-quart bow center in-deck storage compartment with drain, and non-skid surfaces throughout the walking flats, foredeck, gunnel tops, sole, stern platform, and hatch covers. Recessed electric trim tabs come standard, with automatic trim tabs available as an option.
