The 2021 Outback 50 is a 50-foot fiberglass motor yacht built on Michael Peters' proven hull design. Twin Volvo D4 270 diesel engines deliver 540 horsepower and straight-shaft drives, achieving a cruising speed of 15.5 knots at 20 gallons per hour with a range of 390 miles, or 650 miles at 10 knots. The shallow 3'2" draft opens access to the Bahamas, the Intracoastal Waterway, and anchorages beyond the reach of comparable vessels. Bow and stern thrusters provide confident maneuvering in tight spaces.
The boat prioritizes outdoor living with an Infinity Deck, expansive aft deck, full walk-around decks, and a custom hardtop. These spaces are suited to swimming, water toys, and lounging while maintaining easy water access. The layout works equally well for a couple or groups of up to twenty without feeling confined.
Below deck, the two-cabin, one-head accommodation is appointed with a watermaker, inverter system, and air conditioning. Direct-drive shafts and bow and stern thrusters round out the core cruising equipment. The design emphasizes low-maintenance operation and practical functionality built around real-world use.
