This 2022 Defiance Guadalupe 290 EX is a 30-foot sportfish yacht built for serious West Coast offshore fishing. Twin Yamaha F300 outboards deliver 600 horsepower, with approximately 2,800 hours on the engines. The boat cruises at 25 knots and reaches 43 knots, powered by 320 gallons of fuel capacity. The port lower unit was replaced after minor water intrusion was discovered during routine maintenance. Recent upgrades include a new Uflex steering system installed in May 2025 and a Lonestar GX2 windlass installed in May 2026.

The pilothouse layout centers on a factory-built tower that provides wide visibility for spotting fish and structure. The enclosed pilothouse offers weather protection and seating, while the cockpit delivers substantial fishing room and storage. Wide walkaround decks allow easy access forward when fighting fish. The 110-gallon split bait tank supports both sardines and anchovies with a custom dual-pump manifold system allowing independent operation of each side for precise water flow control and built-in redundancy.

Electronics are built around a complete Simrad package: a 16-inch NSS Evo3 multifunction display at the helm, a 9-inch Simrad display overhead, and a 12-inch NSS Evo3 in the tower. A Simrad Halo20 radar system provides target separation and bird-finding capability. A Furuno SCX20 satellite compass and heading sensor deliver precise heading information for radar overlay and autopilot performance. Fish finding relies on an Airmar B275HL-W 1kW CHIRP transducer, chosen for its target separation on bluefin tuna, yellowtail, and deep-water structure.

The Seakeeper Ride system improves handling, reduces bow rise during acceleration, shortens planing times, and minimizes slamming in rough conditions. The hull is finished with Hullmaxx clear antifouling coating that reduces drag while protecting against marine growth. A ProSafe FS30 galvanic isolator completes the systems. The boat has been continuously maintained and serviced at every factory-recommended interval throughout ownership.
