The 2022 Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 is a 41-foot fiberglass catamaran built for serious cruising. Twin Volvo D2 50 horsepower diesel engines with folding three-blade propellers provide reliable power, while the broad 23-foot-6-inch beam creates a spacious platform. The four-cabin, four-head layout offers comfortable accommodation for extended passages or entertaining, with a galley and salon designed for extended time at sea.

Equipment reflects a comprehensive approach to modern cruising. An 11-kilowatt generator, 180-liter-per-hour watermaker, and 56,000 BTU air-conditioning system support self-sufficiency and comfort. Four 400-watt solar panels charge a 920-amp-hour lithium battery bank managed by dual Victron charge controllers.
