The 2022 Freeman 42 is a 42-foot center console built on a fiberglass hull and powered by quad Mercury Verado 400 engines producing 1,600 horsepower combined. The boat reaches speeds up to 75 knots and cruises at 55 knots. It features a Whisper Grey hull with Matterhorn White powder coating and sits on an 11.75-foot beam. A ceramic coating applied in November 2025 covers the hull, underwater surfaces, metals, and engines.
Navigation and electronics include dual Garmin 8624 multifunction displays, Garmin xHD radar, autopilot, and integrated GPS. The boat carries an Optimus Joystick Piloting System for easy maneuvering and dual Icom VHFs with actuated hardtop antennas. Starlink Gen 3 high-performance satellite connectivity and Roku integration are installed. A Spot Trace tracking system and Sionyx night vision camera round out the equipment suite.
The deck layout prioritizes fishing and entertaining. Dual sea chests feed four livewells, and a leaning post houses a tackle center with insulated coolers. Marsh Tacky carbon fiber outriggers in white, a custom recessed windlass with wireless remote, and a forward coffin box lounge with armrests complete the fishing setup. The helm features dual-row Lebroc seating with folding armrests, while a marine head serves the cabin. Lumishore underwater and interior lighting systems provide full-spectrum illumination, and a gull wing enclosure affords weather protection.
Recent upgrades in 2025 include new medium grey upholstery, a new isinglass enclosure, and custom diamond-stitched removable leaning post seats with backrests. An extensive JL Audio system is integrated throughout. The engines run under Mercury's factory platinum warranty through October 2027 at 629 hours of use. A 2025 Rocket trailer is optionally available.
