The Lagoon 50 is a 48-foot cruising catamaran introduced in 2018 and designed by VPLP Yacht Design with interiors by Nauta Yachts. The hull form and deck layout prioritize ease of handling and comfort for extended cruising or charter. Twin YANMAR diesel engines deliver 160 horsepower total, with an 11 kVA ONAN generator providing onboard power. The aft-positioned mast permits a large self-tacking jib, while the shorter boom simplifies mainsail handling. A full bimini shade covers the cockpit, and the generous flybridge and forward seating areas create distinct zones for entertaining and relaxation.
The interior is finished in Alpi walnut and arranged with six cabins and four heads. This layout is customizable to suit different cruising programs or charter operations. The saloon and all cabins feature air conditioning. The light-filled deckhouse provides 360-degree visibility and takes advantage of the volume offered by the twin hulls for generous below-deck living space.
The catamaran's broad beam and wide aft platforms make it stable at anchor and well-suited for swimming and water activities. Low steps provide easy access to the platform and water. The design incorporates the lessons from decades of catamaran building and has been widely adopted for both private cruising and charter service.
