The Nimbus 405 Flybridge is a 2022 Swedish-built cruiser that combines Scandinavian design with practical open-water capability. Built by the respected Nimbus yard in Mariestad, it features the signature asymmetrical "Sidewalk" deck layout—an extra-wide, low-slung starboard side deck that provides safety and freedom of movement during maneuvering and docking. Throughout the boat, teak decking runs from the bow across the side decks, cockpit, bathing platform, and flybridge. The 3.50-meter bridge clearance (with mast folded) keeps proportions clean while the flybridge itself includes a wetbar with sink, 230V induction cooktop, refrigerated drawer, and flexible seating—a double helm chair that rotates 180 degrees to face the U-shaped dinette and table beneath the Bimini top.
Interior spaces are flooded with light through expansive panoramic windows. The salon opens directly to the cockpit via a flush-sliding door, with a practical side door to starboard for quick deck access. Light oak woodwork throughout, the galley features a black Corian countertop, dual sink, induction cooktop, Miele combination oven-microwave, hood, and substantial cold storage (135-liter fridge plus drawer). The layout includes three cabins and two heads: a forward owner's suite with island berth and private en-suite bathroom with separate shower and electric freshwater toilet, plus two guest cabins and a second guest head.
Power comes from twin Volvo Penta D6-380 diesel engines producing 760 horsepower combined, with conventional shaft drives and four-blade props. Maneuvering aids include Sidepower bow and stern thrusters with wireless remote control. A Quick MC X7 gyro stabilizer reduces rolling at anchor and underway, while Humphree trim interceptors optimize running attitude. An 800-ampere-hour lithium service battery bank, 3kW Whisperpower generator, and Mastervolt Mass Combi charger-inverter provide independent power. Heating and air conditioning are handled by an Eberspächer D5 diesel heater and salon-plus-owner-cabin air conditioning.
Navigation runs on a full SIMRAD Glass Bridge setup: dual 12-inch NSO evo2 displays at the main helm with OP50 control unit, a third NSO evo2 multifunction display on the flybridge, HALO 20+ radar, NAC-2 autopilot, NAIS-500 AIS, and RS100 VHF with wireless auxiliary unit. Engine data streams directly to the plotters, and a backup camera is integrated. Additional features include a high-performance FUSION audio system with independent zone control, Raymarine satellite TV antenna with LCD display, premium stainless steel ground tackle, new cockpit canopy, and underwater LED lighting. The boat has operated approximately 173–174 hours.
