2022 Outremer 51

The 2022 Outremer 51 HELIA2 is a fiberglass catamaran built with two significant structural upgrades: carbon bulkheads and a composite compression beam. These enhancements improve rigidity and reduce weight, strengthening offshore performance. She is powered by twin 100-horsepower Volvo diesel engines and measures 51 feet in length with a 24.67-foot beam, providing the stability and volume typical of the Outremer design.

The boat accommodates three staterooms and two heads. She features a hybrid electrical system installed in 2025 with a dedicated 24V lithium battery bank, high-output alternator, and full Victron integration. A 1300W+ solar array supports off-grid operation. Additional systems include Starlink V4 connectivity, PredictWind Data Hub for weather routing, and ABYC-compliant composite thru hulls installed in 2025 for improved corrosion resistance.

Recent maintenance and upgrades span 2024 to 2026 and include new UV covers for the genoa and staysail, a replaced mainsail stackpack, fresh AGM engine start batteries, and new ground tackle—70 meters of chain paired with a Spade anchor. A winter refit was completed in Charleston in 2024–2025.

The boat has been actively sailed since launch in January 2022, including crossings of the Atlantic via the ARC Rally and extensive cruising between the Caribbean and New England. She remains in cruising condition and ready for immediate offshore passage or extended liveaboard use.
