2023 Cobalt R8

A 2023 Cobalt R8 bowrider powered by a single 380-horsepower Mercruiser engine. This 28-foot fiberglass hull sits on a Vanguard custom tandem trailer fitted with aluminum rims, heavy-duty tires, LED lighting, and a spare tire. The boat runs 51 mph top speed and cruises at 45 mph, with approximately 79 hours of runtime accumulated before being placed in heated winter storage. The hull features Rich Ebony Black sides with a Pacific Blue boot stripe and black tower.

The R8's redesigned layout prioritizes spacious, expansive interior volume. Both the bow and cockpit are enlarged fore to aft, with higher freeboard and profile than previous generations. The boat includes a full bimini top, cockpit and bow covers, and a patented easy-entry swim step with flip-down platform. A removable 36-quart cooler, aft-facing rumble seat with sunpad backrest, filler cushions, and helm captain's chair accommodate multiple passengers. A head with porta potti and stainless steel accents throughout complete the interior.

The helm features dual 10-inch Garmin glass displays, a black leather and stainless steel steering wheel, depth and water temperature gauges, dual 12-volt accessory power plugs, and an illuminated switch panel. Entertainment includes a Fusion sound system with Bluetooth, 10 JL speakers, a JL tower speaker system with subwoofer, multiple amplifiers, and stereo remotes in the dash and stern. An aft-facing camera aids maneuvering.

The structure incorporates a Kevlar-reinforced hull, composite transom and stringers, fiberglass cockpit liner, and circuit-breaker-protected electrical systems with dual battery switches. Stainless steel hardware includes windshield braces, engine vents, ski pylon, perimeter rail, and cleats. A Mercury Platinum warranty extends through August 2030.
