The 2023 Fountain 38 Tournament Edition is a 38-foot center console powered by triple Mercury Racing 450R outboards delivering 1,350 total horsepower. Built on a fiberglass hull with a 10.5-foot beam, the boat combines serious offshore fishing capability with the versatility to cruise coastal waters and anchor at shallow destinations. The 20.75-degree transom deadrise and K-plane hydraulic trim tabs support responsive handling across sea conditions.
The cockpit is rigged for tournament fishing and entertaining. A 110-quart Frigid Rigid cooler sits on rolling slides, while tackle storage and six quick-release fender attachments support active use. An enclosed head with ceramic toilet, fresh and raw water washdowns, and a transom shower provide onboard facilities. Two aft and two forward electric reel outlets, plus dual pressurized livewells, serve fishing operations. An aft transom seat with removable upholstered backrest and a starboard dive door with ladder complete the working layout.
Electronics and controls span a full Garmin suite: dual 16-inch GPSmap 8616 displays, a 254W open array radar, and a hydraulic autopilot with dash-mounted GHC50 controller. A Mercury VesselView 903 monitor, AIS, and 315 VHF radio with antenna round out navigation. A premium JL Audio system includes six 7.7-inch LED speakers, two 10-inch LED subwoofers, and dual amplifiers. Additional features include a bow thruster, Shadow-Caster RGB underwater lighting, a thru-hull anchor windlass with rode kit and 15 feet of chain, 18-foot collapsible hybrid outrigger poles on Gemlux bases, and a joystick control system. The 418-gallon fuel capacity supports extended offshore range.
