2023 Gator Trax 17X54

The 2023 Gator Trax 17X54 is a 17-foot aluminum cruiser built for shallow water with minimal engine hours—just 9.2 hours on the Gator Tail 40 hp motor. The hull features a long, sloping airboat-style rake that promotes quick planing and helps the bow ride higher in rough conditions. Internal longitudinal braces that run bow to stern allow the bottom to flex when striking underwater objects, minimizing hull damage and maintaining hydrodynamic performance. The aluminum construction flexes rather than sticks in tunneling dents, avoiding parasitic drag.

The Gator Tail GTR40XD High Output engine combines increased power and durability through an updated camshaft, piston, and connecting rod design. A new performance muffler improves airflow, a refined cylinder head profile enhances cooling, and revised EFI calibration boosts overall power delivery. The engine features an ergonomic handle, high heat reverse cover, and three-piece lower unit.
