The Hallberg-Rassy 57 is a modern centre-cockpit cruising yacht built for serious offshore passage-making. Hull number 14, delivered new in June 2023, this boat combines the Swedish builder's reputation for sea-kindly handling and build quality with contemporary design from German Frers. The design delivers responsive steering, a spacious deck layout with 10,000 litres of locker storage, and the signature push-button sailing system that allows a small crew to manage all sail operations from the helm.
The three-cabin, two-head interior features European oak joinery throughout and is arranged on a single level sole. The forward cabin has a split berth configuration, the starboard cabin offers generous proportions, and the aft cabin is exceptionally wide and comfortable. The galley is well-appointed with a Miele induction cooktop and combination oven, while the saloon includes a port-side settee designed as a sea berth. Teak covers the side decks and cockpit.
Power comes from a Volvo Penta D4-175 diesel engine with shaft drive and Gori three-bladed propeller. An Onan 17.5kW generator supports a comprehensive electrical system built around a 60kWh Mastervolt lithium battery package, dual 4kW inverters, and extensive solar panels with MPPT charge control. The boat features Sleipner retractable bow and stern thrusters, a Spectra Newport 1000c watermaker, and climate control via Dometic reverse-cycle air conditioning and dual Webasto diesel heating.
Navigation and communication systems include dual Raymarine Axiom chart plotters, Quantum Q24C radar, p70 autopilot with dual independent drive systems for redundancy, Icom IC-M803 SSB, Iridium GO, Starlink, and SEA.AI optical and thermal collision avoidance integrated with Raymarine. The rig is a Selden system with full push-button hydraulic in-mast furling, electric furling genoa, hydraulic furling staysail, and Reckmann hydraulic Code Zero furler. Recent sails include an Elvstrom Hydranet Radial mainsail, genoa, and staysail, plus Elvstrom furling downwind options. Standing rigging was recently replaced. The boat carries a Simpson 300kg electric davit system with a Highfield 3.60m tender and Tohatsu 20hp outboard, plus comprehensive cruising inventory, spare parts, and tools.
