The 2023 Sportsman Open 242 is a 24-foot center console built around serious fishing capability. Powered by a single 300 hp Yamaha engine, it delivers solid performance across a range of water conditions. The boat features a full fiberglass hard-top with integrated D-tubing frame, a forward console with full inner liner, and thoughtful layout that balances fishing function with entertainment versatility.

Fishing-focused amenities include a 25-gallon rear livewell with high-speed pickup, a 12-gallon built-in console cooler, and flush-mount gunwale rod holders. A 13-gallon freshwater tank with washdown, raw water washdown system, and windlass with anchor and 200 feet of line round out the working equipment. The deluxe leaning post features flip-up bolsters and tackle storage underneath, while the bow offers insulated storage and a removable table with filler board.

Electronics center on a Garmin GPSMAP 943xsv 9-inch touch multifunction display paired with a Garmin VHF 110 radio. Dual battery configuration with switch and trays, digital electronic controls, and SportLink electronics integration support the systems. An Airmar B60 thru-hull transducer feeds the displays, while eight JL Audio speakers and Fusion premium stereo handle entertainment.
