The 2023 Technohull Explorer 40 is a 40-foot rigid-inflatable tender built on a fiberglass hull and powered by twin Yanmar 370 HP diesel inboards with leg drives and counter-rotating propellers. The patented DynaStream stepped hull delivers efficient, comfortable cruising at 32 knots and a top speed exceeding 40 knots. At cruising speed, fuel consumption is approximately 100 liters per hour. The boat sits 12 people (CE rating) and sleeps four—two berths below deck and accommodation in the forward cabin.
Below deck, a head with toilet, basin, and double berth occupies the lower cabin with excellent headroom. The forward cabin provides additional sleeping space. Teak decks run throughout, with ample seating and lounge areas on deck. Notable equipment includes a Raymarine Axiom 12-inch touchscreen chartplotter, Quantum radar, VHF with DSC, dual Vessel View displays for Yanmar engine diagnostics, Fusion Apollo stereo, bow thruster, electric windlass with remote control, and a deck shower. The helm area features reinforced towing points for mothership towing and an electric anchor winch.
Optional equipment installed includes solar panels and charging systems, shade covers with carbon poles, a teak table with carbon legs, underwater transom lights, shore power cable with charger, and a cool box integrated under aft seating. Four AGM 150 AH batteries with charger and solar regulator provide auxiliary power. The boat has 314 to 319 engine hours as of May 2025, with recent servicing of the main engines at 250 hours, leg service by Yanmar in June 2025, new antifoul applied in May 2025, and professional detailing completed the same month.
