2024 Catalina 12.5 Expo

The Catalina 12.5 Expo is a fiberglass sailing yacht built for straightforward handling and quick deployment. Its standout feature is the SmartRig system—a rotating carbon fiber mast that eliminates traditional stays, chainplates, and halyards. The mast is deck-stepped and removable by hand in minutes without tools, making setup and stowage remarkably simple. The integrated Hoyt boom works with the SmartRig to allow easy sail reefing and furling using a single line that can also roll the sail completely around the mast for storage.

The hull is hand-laid fiberglass with full internal flotation, making the boat virtually unsinkable. The deck features molded-in non-skid and is fabricated as a single fiberglass piece. The tapered one-piece carbon fiber mast reduces weight while maximizing sail power, contributing to efficient performance in a compact 12.75-foot design with a 5-foot beam.
