The 2024 Chaparral 287 SSX is a 28-foot open bowrider built on a fiberglass hull and powered by a single 430-horsepower Mercury engine. The boat features an expansive cockpit layout with ample seating upholstered in hand-stitched vinyl and convenient hinged storage integrated throughout the design.

The helm is equipped with dual 7-inch touchscreen displays featuring SolarMAX IPS technology with wide viewing angles that remain visible through polarized sunglasses. Navigation is supported by preloaded, high-detail C-MAP US charts covering inland and coastal waters. The touchscreen interface provides full control of sonar, radar, autopilot, and onboard accessories, with keypad backup controls available. Connectivity to engines, sound systems, and other systems is integrated throughout, and the navigation suite includes automatic routing support and trip planning via TripIntel.
