The Explorer ICE is a 78-foot steel-hulled expedition trawler built in 2024. Designed to operate in remote polar and sub-polar waters, the hull is reinforced to withstand 8mm ice, and the yacht achieves a range exceeding 4,000 nautical miles on its 24,000-litre fuel capacity. Twin Cummins diesel engines of 820 hp combined deliver a maximum speed of 12 knots with a cruising speed of 10.5 knots, while Vector Fin stabilizers provide excellent motion control underway and at rest.
The interior features bleached oak and dark veneers throughout, designed by BAZ Design Studios. The layout includes seven cabins and six heads, with the main living spaces arranged across multiple deck levels. A pillared saloon adjacent to the wheelhouse offers climate-controlled comfort with elevated views, while a private flybridge provides guest seating forward of the superstructure. The forward deck includes additional seating and a low table suitable for outdoor dining.
The aft areas prioritize outdoor living. A substantial external sundeck features lounge seating, sunbathing areas, and a bar, with a dedicated dining platform below accommodating eight guests on the main aft deck. A swim platform provides direct water access. A hydraulic crane facilitates deployment of a tender up to five metres, with stowage for an additional inflatable or water toys. A hidden passageway within the port side staircase allows convenient access to the aft deck when moored.
