The 2024 Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 is a three-cabin catamaran built in fiberglass with a 41-foot length and nearly 24-foot beam. This model is configured as the Maestro version with three heads and a choice of port layout. Power comes from twin Volvo D2-50 diesel engines rated at 100 horsepower each, paired with three-blade folding propellers.
The boat carries substantial cruising equipment and systems throughout. An 11-kilowatt generator supports a 56,000-BTU air conditioning system, while a 1,260-watt solar array and 2,000-watt inverter/charger provide auxiliary power. A pressurized seawater system, hot and cold deck shower, and 110-volt water heater serve the interior. The galley includes 90 liters of cold storage plus a separate cockpit refrigerator. Navigation and safety systems include Garmin dual GPS displays with autopilot, AIS, radar, VHF radio with a second helmstation unit, and an inflatable life raft.
The outdoor spaces feature a bimini with full enclosure, helm station protection, synthetic teak flooring on the cockpit and transoms, foredeck cushions, and additional mooring cleats. The sail plan includes a full-batten mainsail with lazy jack system, electric windlass, and double clutches for reef points two and three. Interior amenities comprise three electric heads, five 12-volt cabin fans, convertible salon table, LED courtesy lighting, and a Fusion audio system with Bluetooth capability.
This configuration reflects the Oceanic and Grand Large upgrade packages and is ready for cruising use upon delivery.
