The 2024 Fountaine Pajot MY5 is a 40-foot fiberglass catamaran powered by twin Volvo IPS 600 diesel engines totaling 760 horsepower. She features dual joysticks for intuitive maneuvering, Volvo interceptors, and an extra joystick installed at the cockpit starboard station. Navigation and monitoring systems include three Garmin units—an IPS pilot, AIS VHF receiver, and dual 16-inch GPSMAP displays—plus Garmin radar and engine room cameras. A second VHF handset is included.
The catamaran's accommodations center on a saloon with an electrical convertible coffee and dinner table, pure white PVC interior upholstery, and exterior window blinds. The galley features two induction hobs, a combination microwave oven, and separate refrigeration: a 160-liter fridge and 60-liter freezer at minus 5 degrees Celsius. Two heads serve the layout, including one electric freshwater unit on the starboard side. A solar array of three 100-watt panels supports the electrical system alongside twin Northern Lights 12kW 220V 60Hz generators.
Comfort systems include full-boat air conditioning with a tropical upgrade to 60,000 BTU capacity and a 60-liter-per-hour low-consumption watermaker. The fly bridge features a hard-top Bimini, helm station with double seating and dralon protective cover, diner table, 220V Kenyon electric grill, and on-deck refrigeration. An aft hydraulic platform rated for 250 kilograms adds utility. Deck features include synthetic teak on transoms, cockpit, and in the master shower, hand rails on fore deck accesses, anchor locker, and cockpit fresh water outlet. A 20-kilogram delta anchor with 60 meters of 10-millimeter stainless steel chain completes the ground tackle.
