The Matthews 62 is a custom sportfish built using a hull originally molded by Tom Slane and completed by Brad Matthews in collaboration with experienced craftsmen. The boat measures 62 feet in length with an 18-foot beam and draws 4 feet 5 inches. Construction uses resin-infused fiberglass throughout.
Twin Volvo D-13 diesel engines rated at 1,000 horsepower each drive Volvo Penta IPS 3 pod drives. At cruising speed of 29 knots, fuel consumption is approximately 60 gallons per hour total. The boat reaches a top speed of 38 knots. Fuel capacity stands at 1,000 gallons, with 200 gallons of fresh water and a 100-gallon holding tank. The cockpit spans 185 square feet.
Below deck, the yacht offers three staterooms and three heads. Equipment includes Garmin electronics, a Seakeeper Gyro stabilization system, Rupp carbon fiber outriggers, Sionyx night vision camera, Bluewater fighting and helm chairs, Wetsounds stereo system, Lewmar carbon fiber steering wheel, a Sleipner bow thruster, Teezer TD-2000 dredge reel, and Teak Deck Systems composite decking. A Lumitec LED lighting system and Marine Power door are also installed. The boat comes with a three-year or 1,000-hour warranty from the builder.
