The Northstar Orion 8 is a 26.9-foot rigid inflatable built on a twin-stepped hull design by naval architect Adam Younger. The fiberglass hull is fitted with carbon fiber Hypalon tubes and powered by a single 300 hp Mercury engine. The stepped hull geometry is engineered to reduce drag and improve speed, stability, and fuel efficiency for offshore operation. The boat carries a fuel capacity of 360 liters and accommodates up to 14 passengers with a maximum payload of 1,833 kg.
The cockpit and deck layout include synthetic teak decking, LED deck lighting, and a sundeck. Below, there is an electric fridge, electric heads with an integral shower system, and an electric windlass. A pop-up ski tow pylon is fitted for water sports. This combination of features balances performance-oriented capability with refined comfort for both spirited running and relaxed cruising.
