The 2025 Alumaweld Free Drifter 20 is a purpose-built aluminum runabout designed for precision boat control in shallow water. Its 6-degree deadrise hull paired with Alumaweld's Path Lifting Strakes enables quick planing with minimal bow rise and the ability to drift into shallow tailouts. The boat measures 20 feet in length with a 7-foot beam, built with heavy-duty .160-inch bottom and .125-inch sidewall aluminum construction. Fuel capacity is 37 gallons, and the boat accommodates five persons with a maximum weight capacity of 1,500 pounds.
The open layout prioritizes casting freedom and boat control. Wide tackle trays run the full length for rod storage, while the forward fuel tank position is engineered to enhance balance during operation. The foredeck features a lockable storage locker, and the transom includes a rigging compartment with floor drains. Two folding seats sit on aluminum boxes, and additional storage is integrated throughout the design.
Standard equipment includes continuously welded box girder construction with under-floor protective coating and four lifting strakes. The interior features Armor Tech premium floorboards with non-skid vinyl covering and an Aluma-coat finish. The boat comes with a deluxe five-switch panel with dual USB ports and 12-volt outlet, depth finder boxes, electric bilge pump, running lights, a washdown pump, and a hot tub in the transom enclosure. The transom rigging compartment, swim step with tie downs, and full outside paint with vinyl graphics complete the package.
